About Me
Hi there!
I’m Andrew Burch, but most people call me Drew.
I currently work in infrastructure security as a senior consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, an American management and information technology consulting firm accredited for its unparalleled experience and expertise supporting and fulfilling United States Department of Defense federal contracts (among other high-profile clients). At this time I am heavily involved in automation of endpoint security and data loss prevention (DLP) systems for the entire firm.
Previously, I worked in corporate network security for Consumers Energy, the state of Michigan’s largest natural gas and electric utility provider, and as a software engineer intern for the same company and simultaneously as a system administrator for Western Michigan University, where I received my B.S. in Computer Science in April 2016.
My interests include anything related to security (cryptography, steganography, hash functions, algorithms and number theory), mass data analysis, efficiency and automation programming, software design and interconnected technology in the modern digital age. In my spare time, I volunteer over at SpigotMC as a forums moderator (1.8 million members) and previously as a mentor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBS) organization in Jackson, MI.
This website is intended to be an online portfolio and centralized location for documenting all of my various projects and a blog focusing on technology, security topics I find particularly interesting, or whatever else I may be currently working on in my personal life.
Whether you have stopped by my little corner of the Internet on purpose or on accident, my hope is that you take away more than what you came with.
